We got away from the NEC Clothes show last night at 8.40pm and I finally got home in my van at 10pm! so to say I am tired today is an understatement.

We met lots of lovely people at the show and did our utmost to spread the 'Lello word'.
We felt the attendance was down on last year, perhaps due to the recession and also that customers were very reluctant to part with their hard earned cash. But like last year it was a worth while show and I would hope that we will be in attendance again next year.

The van is now unloaded and we are updating the website with lines which sold through at the Clothes show. The most popular items at the show were our Roma Bracelet, the Keepsake Necklace in metal antique finish, our large heart Alice necklace (shown in the pic below), Little Lello and Vintage Rose (show below, the very pretty pink beaded bracelet with embedded flowers) to name a few. We have hopefully directed a lot of new visitors to our website and look forward to keeping them in touch with our plans for 2010.

I must say I picked up some fab bargains! The Clothes show is definitely the place to go for lovely and very affordable part dresses, makeup and jewellery.

Clothes Show footage & What are we wearing?

I captured a few visitors on my little 'flip video' recorder at The Clothes show at the weekend. One lady, aptly named Karen arrived with one of our Lello necklaces on (Military £15.00) so I felt I just had to film her. As the days have gone by we have had many ladies coming to the stand wearing our jewellery which has been lovely to see. All returning customers have been given a free Lello keyring!
Secondly for 'what are we wearing at Lello today' I have snapped Fiona this morning wearing our grey pearl multi strand bracelet 'Milly' £12.00 and matching grey pearl flower earrings 'Iris', £7.00.

The Clothes Show Continues

.......It's nice not Not be at The Clothes Show today! The weekend was extremely busy but all the stands have commented that customers are reluctant to part with their money this year.
We had a major panic on Saturday morning when the lead snapped in the credit card machine and my husband drove up to the NEC with a spare one, just in time for the rush.
We have met lots of lovely ladies over the past few days and I will upload some film of a few of them tomorrow. Our Little Lello has gone down a storm with teenagers! and it was a great oppotunity for us to study all the current trends and find what our customers liked and didn't like. I am hoping we have introduced a lot more women to Lello.

Today is all about getting on top of orders, especially from Amazon as this is meant to be the biggest week for shopping on the internet. I am also catching up with all the new Spring Season samples which have arrived in the office over the weekend, so lots to do........

Clothes Show Here we come!

I have been over to the NEC in Birmingham this morning to set up our stand at The Clothes Show which starts tomorrow. It's usually quite stressful getting there and unloading but I had the help of my husband today which meant we had it all done in just over and hour!

I took a short film of our little stand, as you can see many of the stands around us were still waiting to be set up and we are positioned just by the cat walk like we were last year.
Tomorrow will probably be a shock to the system if it is anything like last year, we were ten deep in customers last December and didn't manage to make it to the 'ladies room' till 4pm that day. It was literally 'non stop'!

Winter is Here!

It is a chilly morning here at Lello. I am sat with my gillet on and big scarf wrapped a few times round my neck, it takes a few days for our building to warm up so Mondays are always a challenge.

We have recently started selling on Amazon which is a whole new ball game for us but the first indications are that it seems to be working. It wasn't something I'd thought of until I realised that I bought quite a lot through them and thought there must be more people like me out there. The prices are the same as on our website but it does open up new possibilities for people finding out about our jewellery.

This week sees the start of The Clothes Show at the NEC in Birmingham, (it begins on Friday) so later today we will start preparing for it. There is a lot to organise, stock, tables, samples and so forth
not mention the organisation of children and husbands!
We are in the Style Show part of the Clothes Show in hall 19, so please come and see us if you are attending.

It's a windy Friday.

Thankfully we have been unaffected here at Lello by all the flooding but my heart goes out to those people round the country who have suffered and will suffer damage this week.

We are all too aware of how it can affect a business as our last premises were hit by flooding several times and it was simply awful. A factory of stock, offices full of computers and a children's playroom all damaged at least 3 times. The mess the smell, the upset was horrible.

Needless to say the building we occupy now is in a much safer position but everytime there is heavy rainfall I sit at home wondering if it will affect us again.

We have a had a visit by another of our Lello traders this morning, Victoria and her gorgeous little girl, who was passed around the office so we could all have a cuddle!. Our Lello ladies/traders are booked out with parties in the lead up to Christmas and earning some well earned extra cash for themselves.

Meanwhile it is a busy Friday morning, completing artwork for several adverts we are doing in publications for the new year and lots of orders to dispatch.

Mulled Wine & shopping - Local Event to Leicestershire
I attended Inside Out's mulled wine event last night in Keyham, Leicestershire. The girls are also open all day today and this evening so please go along. Their new ranges of clothes are beautiful and I picked up some lovely Christmas decorations.

What are we up to?

We have some new samples in today of our Aut/Wint jewellery lines, so we are checking over those to make sure we are 100% happy with them, so far the response from our team of agents around the country has been very positive and they all like the new designs.

Our design team are very busy with a large design project we have on this week, so it's all hands to the pump. We have an important client coming to see us today, so everywhere is looking very tidy and the samples are out ready to show them what we can do.

We are also very busy packing lots of orders to our customers now that all our miracle bead necklaces have come in so the dispatch area is filling up quickly.

Although along way off, some time is now being devoted to how we will promote ourselves at the Clothes Show in Birmingham in December. We exhibited there for the first time to the public last year and the stand was a great success for us. Looking forward to the mayhem this year! We're now back from PG Live and the Clothes Show ready to start packing all of the orders we received. It was great to meet so many of you and hear all of the great comments about our ranges of cards and jewellery.

One of the hottest ranges for us at the Clothes Show was certainly the chunky jewellery. You loved the range of colours and the distinctive designs. Remember, that the Little Lello range of Chunky Jewellery for little girls will be launched this month, so keep checking back here for the latest news.

Lello at The Clothes Show

As one team packs up the Lello stand at PG Live, another team are putting the finishing touches to the jewellery on display at The Clothes Show.


Running for three days from Friday 29th May until Sunday 31st May, ExCel in East London, will be home to fashion cat-walk shows, hair and make-up demonstrations and advice from a wide range of fashion experts.

Lello will be exhibiting their range of colourful costume jewellery for women and little girls and we would be delighted to to welcome you to Stand 143.
