Damp and Dreary but Sunny inside!

It might be damp and dreary outside but we are all smiles here at Lello today. Maybe because Easter is only a few days away and everyone will enjoy a very well deserved break and maybe because a lot of new jewellery is due in 'at last' next week.

What's most is important is that our children are happy. The eldest two are off playing tennis this morning (as the rain holds off) and the youngest two are up in our playroom here at Lello being well looked after. I took this picture of myself and my little girl and my sister's youngest son this morning as they were motoring around the room in their little cars.

Meanwhile I am trying to organise the delivery of our new jewellery which should arrive late next week and once it comes in will be uploaded onto our website the following week.

I am also starting to plan a 'sale day' here at Lello for a date tbc in May/June. We have lots of old lines of jewellery and all manner of stock which we would like to sell through and thought it would be a good idea to have an 'open air' sale here in our car park. More info, nearer the time.
We will plan it for a weekend.

I have snapped Fiona and I today.
Fiona is wearing our very popular 'Roma' bracelet with antique metal finish, large bead heart and charms attached, £9.99. Has matching necklace, 'Keepsake' £12.00.

What a dreary week we have in store

After such a lovely weekend, what a shame there is so much rain fore casted and whilst the children are off for Easter, it just doesn't seem fair to them, all they want to do is play outside.

I am blowing my nose every few minutes (another cold) whilst going through 'literally' about 500 or more emails which have built up last week whilst we had problems with our Internet. It's not much fun, but I am getting through them.
Everyone here is very busy this morning, we have a couple of design jobs on which need to be finished before Wednesday and a good deal of orders shops want before Easter.

I have done my Easter shop (eggs), my 3yr old knows that I will leave the kitchen window open for the Easter bunny to hop through on Sunday morning and she is already checking out possible places it will leave all the little eggs in. My 8 year old however is far too clued in but has agreed to go along with the charade for the sake of his sister and of cause the egg hunt. It's a ritual for us every year and we sometimes find little eggs days and week's later which have rolled under the sofa or become hidden behind a curtain. It's great fun!! but it's not fun insisting they don't eat them all straight away!!

Wonderful!

We are finally back online here at Lello, 4 days of no emails or internet access has proved very trying.
So for Friday I have doubled up on a 'Fashion find of the week' and 'What are we wearing at Lello'.

The fashion find is a lovely grey satin top (on trend for Spring Summer) and from Tesco of all places. You can see from the price tag it is only £12 and would look lovely under a little blue jacket or on it's own.

I am home now and able to log onto the internet. Our server is down and Lello and I can not access our blog nor to mention my ever growing number of emails.

What a lovely morning

Isn't it nice to wake up with some sunshine.
It's a busy Monday morning here at Lello, having sorted out my child care for the week and over the Easter Hols it's back to sifting though my emails and checking some last minute jewellery samples. Lots to do.

Fashion Find of the Week

I have been a little bit more conservative this week after the comments I had on facebook last month! although they were a bit of laugh from someone I knew who thought one of the dresses I'd chosen was 'awful', I thought I'd go for something a little more 'everyday'.

So for those of you ladies who like Boden, I saw this lovely cardigan made by Miss Selfridge. Navy blue with white spots, slim line sleeves, buttons down the front and with two little pockets at the front. Very cute, in a fine knit, so nothing heavy. In fact I liked it so much I bought one!
At £25.00 it is almost half the price of a Boden cardigan and I think I will be wearing it all summer as it will go with so many things. The scarf is my own which I tied round the hanger (Tommy Hilfiger from TKMaxx) as I am a bit of scarf 'freak'.
Very on-trend for Spring Summer for the 'nautical' red white and blue look. But maybe a bit twee for some?

The second picture is a really pretty blouse/top by Warehouse made from a very fine cotton with gold running through it, gives the top a slight shimmer. It has 2 ruffles running down the front and also down the back with an elasticated waste. The sleeves are for those of you out there who have nice arms! Although I liked it very much I don't think my arms are quite up to wearing it, also £25.00 and would look great with jeans. Slightly see through. The top is beige with highlights of pink, purple, orange blue and gold.

Crumbs!

Crumbs we are swamp ted with jewellery orders today, which is really great despite the fact our new Spring Summer stock hasn't arrived yet! Our customers for now seem quite happy to order from our current lines.
It's too soon to say that retailers are in any kind of recovery as it is so tough out there for everyone. But they can order as little as £75 worth of stock from Lello, we deliver in 2 days on most occasions and it allows the retailers to have new stock to sell through without breaking the bank and they can re-order online whenever they want to.

We are also offering our retail customers a 5% discount if they pay us in 10 days from date of invoice as in incentive to save themselves some money.

What's happening today

I will be desk bound today after being out most of yesterday at what proved to be an exciting opportunity for Lello jewellery.
Amongst my 10's of emails I have a long check list of things to get through today including contacting all our sales agents who work round the country selling our cards and jewellery.
Meanwhile we are working on an ad which will go into one of the jewellery and handbag magazines called 'Attire' which needs to be finished today and also uploading the remaining last few spring summer jewellery lines to the website.

What are we wearing at Lello today?

I have had a quick snap taken this morning as I am off to what I hope will be a very promising meeting this afternoon for our jewellery. So my fingers and toes are crossed!

I am wearing one of my favourite necklaces Lello has produced which is light weight and very comfortable to wear.
'Florence' £17.00, is made up of 7 strands of small grey beads held together with much larger oblong beads towards the top. It's the kind of necklace you can just pull on over your head which why I think I wear it so much. There is also a matching bracelet which I usually wear aswell but seem to have forgotten to put it on this morning. 'Rosa' £8.00.

But it's not now!
Busy here with mail order's today not sure why so many people decided to order online over the weekend but we are grateful so thank you. Being relatively un known it is a side of the business we hope to expand over the year with orders over Christmas being double what they had been for a six month period! I think it must have been our great sale items and free delivery.

I am afraid our shop plans are on hold for the time being, we were planning to open a shop here on site to the public but for now we have put it on the back burner until we have time to devote to it properly.
We are having a big stock take today which is taking it's time, with the new jewellery lines due in soon, it's essential we have a bit of move around to make way for it.

Our new shop

I will have date for you next week about a date for us opening our shop here at Lello.
We aim to have it open before the end of March so that customers can come in and buy our lovely jewellery and other gifts.
Based here in Syston we have ample parking and will be open Monday to Friday 9am to 4.30pm.

It's a funny day!

It is a bit of an odd day here today, lots of emails to catch up on, checking out some of the new designs for Autmn Winter which are looking lovely and deciding on where everything in our new shop is going to go.
I have attached a picture of myself as I am wearing one of our lovely glass bead cluster bracelets today, in ivory, £9.99, not one I wear all that often but it goes well with my stripey jumper!
and I think I will be wearing it much more often after today.
I think I look a bit sleepy! must be my cold.....

I quickly snapped Melanie today although she won't be very happy with the picture as she looks half asleep! sorry Mel.
Let's put it down to her being very pregnant!
Mel looked lovely today all in grey and silver with her growing bump showing.

A new week

I am back from a lovely weeks ski holiday to a thousand emails. Or so it would seem which have taken me all day to get through.
Life at Lello continues as we turn our attentions to Aut/Winter 2010 in terms of jewellery. Putting a stake in the ground is always the difficult step once we make a decision all the new designs seem to stem from that.
With Mother's Day fast approaching please have a look at our lovely jewellery and order by midday on Thursday to guarantee delivery.
