Palmers have a very customer friendly Garden Centre near Fosse Park in Leicester with a huge range of plants and an impressive giftware section of cards, clothing, jewellery, stationery and much more. I can personally recommend their Cafe! and also their children's trolley/pedal cars which both my children have thoroughly enjoyed using. It makes looking at all the lovely plants an enjoyable time for the kids aswell.

What are we wearing at Lello Today?

It's the turn of Melanie and Julie today, two of our designers.
Melanie has a on a very lovely orange silk blouse and is road testing one of our new necklaces for Autumn, called ' Mercury', metal antique effect beads of varying sizes. This necklace will retail for approx £20.00. This new necklace matches other designs in our current range which can be viewed on our website under black and grey jewellery, there will also be large antique metal earrings to match.
Julie in Blue is wearing our matching necklace and bracelet set Honey £20.00 and Angel £8.00. Made from grey glass pearls with chain and also an antique look, currently in stock and with beautiful earrings to match.

Lello Trends Evening Thursday 17th Sept 2009

Our next Trends Evening has been booked for Thursday 17th September!

To be Held at TKMaxx in Thurmaston.
There will be 200 tickets available to purchase direct from Lello. Tickets will go on sale on Thursday 3rd September at the cost of £7.50. There will be posters and leaflets for people to pick up about the event at TKMaxx in the coming weeks.

The Trends Evening is a fashion show guiding the public through the colours and the fashions from catwalk to high street for Aut/Wint 2009/2010. There will be a slide show detailing pictures from the catwalk. We will talk you through the fashions and then our models wearing outfits from TKMaxx and Outfit (Wallis, Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins) and accessorized with Jewellery by Lello will walk amongst you showing you what is available this season for you to buy.
People attending the evening will be treated to a 'private shopping evening' at TKMaxx which will stay open late to accommodate everyone. You will also have the opportunity to buy Lello's jewellery on the night.
Goodie bags for all.

What are we wearing at Lello Today?

I am going to cheat today I am afraid because we are a bit thin on the ground with staff.
The designers are too busy and 'up against it' to talk to me and many of the others are unloading a lorry!
So instead I will show you some of our new jewellery for Aut/Wint which this season is modelled by Molly Cooper (16).
Molly is wearing our new long 'Crater' necklace, made up of antique metal discs with matching 'Meteor' bracelet, which is a long bracelet which coils and wraps round your wrist. Molly is also wearing our new Grey classic short necklace made of grey glass beads. On Molly's right wrist she is wearing our current 'Alexa' metal bracelet with heart attachment and chain 'Gretal' bracelet with two hanging hearts. Molly is wearing our current 'Crystal' earrings.
Lastly Molly is sporting one of our new large handbags, 'Slate' made from 100% recycled felt and grey flannel with a lovely large black ribbon and gem corsage attached.

The storm after the calm

Mondays are always interesting, especially after such a lovely sunny weekend.
The office is bustling with children who are just about to leave for the park. Their raised voices (to put it mildly) are causing friction with our designers who are very busy.
I think it will be a trip to one of Leicester's local museums today for them.

Myself and my colleagues in the office are busy with calls for orders and the usual backlog of Monday mornings emails. We are organising the delivery of all our new aut/wint jewellery and when it is all due to dock. The new jewellery brochure needs designing too so that's the next job now after all the photography was done last week.

Later today we will start planning our next Trends Evening which will be held at TKMaxx in Thurmaton in Leicester. The event will be held mid Sept, once a date is booked I will start spreading the word. The first evening we held here on site at Lello was on the hottest day of the year in July and it was desperately hot, but eveyone who came had a great evening.
80 women turned up and the evening was a big success for us. This time round we'd like to aim for 200 guests, it will be a great asset holding the evening at TKMaxx.
Tickets will be on sale (only) here at Lello in Syston in Leicester towards the end of Aug and priced again at £7.50. Those wanting to attend can come in and purchase a ticket or phone up and order over the phone and will post tickets out to you. We will not know until nearer the event if people will be able to buy tickets on the night. It will all depend upon demand. Shoppers will be able to shop at the store after the show and also buy Lello jewellery on the night. We will be providing all our guests with a wonderful goodie bag like last time for them to take home with them.

TKMAXX in Thurmaston in Leicester have agreed to host Lello's next Trends Evening in September. Date to be announced. Tickets will be available from Lello nearer the time.

Lovely bags!

Here are some more pictures of the new handbags we are launching at the end of the month.

The same design applies to 3 large bags and 3 small bags, showing here is the large black chenille and the large grey flannel (also comes in Red chenille). Also below the small red chenille and the small black chenille (also comes in grey flannel). The brooches come on the bag but are detachable and can also be bought separately on their own. The large bag will retail for £49.00 and the small bag will retail for £35.00.

Online Registrations

We have been really pleased with the amount of online registrations we are getting from new trade customers wanting to buy & sell our jewellery.
If you are in the trade and would like to stock our products, you can log on our website follow the information and register. Complete the Registration form and set yourself up with a valid password. Please note you must be a retailer!

Your request will come through to me and I will 'switch you on'. You will then be able to log into the trade part of the site to place your order.

Calm

It's a nice calm morning here at Lello after all the excitement of yesterday's photoshoot.
My little 3 year old Heidi was absolutely shattered after her modelling debut.

It's raining outside but we are assured of better weather in the Midlands this afternoon so I am keeping my finger crossed.

We are signing off more of the Autumn / Winter jewellery today when the final samples come in and we will then rush to get some over to our distributor in New Zealand who has a show at the end of the month. For some reason our jewellery sells very well over there so we will pull out all the stops to get them something in time for their exhibition.

Apart from that we have all been discussing what we are doing at Christmas here in the office. It seems far to early to be doing that! We all want to have answers for when our mothers ask us what our plans are!

Aut/Winter Jewellery Photoshoot!

Pictures look great from our photoshoot today.
We took a quick snap of some of us, myself on the left with my 3 year old Heidi, my niece Sophie 11, and my sister and business partner Fiona, yet again on the phone!
We have had a great morning and the girls performed brilliantly!
Heidi and Sophie were modelling the new Little Lello jewellery, Heidi in pearls and Sophie in the antiqued metal finish necklace bracelet set. More pictures to follow in a few days.

Hectic Mondays

What a busy Monday.
Children running round the office, constent rain and drizzle outside preventing them from going out on their go carts... not fun.
We have also been shopping for the clothes our new models will wear for the new Aut/Wint jewellery brochure we are shooting tomorrow. My beautiful niece Sophie and my darling little girl Heidi will be modelling the new Little Lello jewellery. I am sure it will be a noisy affair!

Small Albums Arrive!

Yippee.....
Our best selling album LG1' small album have arrived this morning.
We have 500 of them to get out today just to cover our back orders! Not to mention all our current orders for them.
They make a great gift for any occasion. You can choose almost any of our card designs to have on the front, wedding, christening, new baby, hen night, age cards.

They are A5 size with 20 clear plastic wallets to slot your photo's in. Great for that special occassion. Available online again from Monday.

Keeping the Kids Happy

Like a lot of women in business, we have children and it's the school summer holidays.
It's no different for us other than the fact we have always employed a nanny on site to help us with the children we much rather that than have the children in a nursery all day where we wouldn't see them. Keeping them amused in the holidays is a challenging time as it is for all mums whilst still being here at Lello full time.
There can only be so many trips to the Cinema, bowling etc. because of the expense so regular visits to parks and museums are a favourite because as we all know, 'they are free'.

This morning for whatever reason a couple of them have ventured down from the playroom to sit at one of our computers. Our usually quiet office becomes a loud, giggly, shouting, excited oficce of boys playing on Cbeebies games.
The sun is now shining outside so a trip to the park is looming for all five them and the office will resume to it's normal calm place. But not for long!!!

Our customers are used to it now, but it still doesn't mean that burping, laughing and sudden outbursts, go unnoticed.
It's all good fun, we wouldn't have it any other way.

A couple of sneek previews of some of our new lines for Aut/Wint

A fabulous new corsage 1 of 3 new designs. Called Kingdom.
Bracelet, 'Buttons', a military style bracelet which has a matching necklace and earings
made from antique silver effect metal.
Picture three shows a new bracelet, Trinket, a fine gold finish and crystal beads with peacock charm. This also has a matching necklace.

Leaks - Little Lello - Lovely rings

Sat outside Lello this morning are two roofers waiting to start on the flat roof above our office. My only problem is that it has been raining.. a lot this morning. What they hope to achieve I have no idea. But we need them to fix the roof. It's their job so I am sure they know what they are doing?!

Our re-stock of Little Lello is due in any day which is great news as we have sold out of the whole range, the stock will be available online again by early next week.

Our new pearl rings we are launching for Aut/Wint have come in for us to approve and they are lovely! We have had them made in pearl, grey and black with expandable sterling silver bands.
I think they will be a great addition to the variety of glass pearl jewellery we have on offer.
They will retail for £9.99, they will make the perfect gift! or just a nice treat for yourself.
I will upload a pic of the ring later today!

Tuesday - What are we wearing today?

It's Tuesday again and this is the day when we take a picture of someone here at Lello and show you which Lello jewellery they have on today.

The girls are really busy designing on the Macs so I quickly caught Fiona (my sister and Bus partner) and Laura one of our designers while I had the chance. Both wearing black today which never happens as everyone here is usually so colourful.

Mondays!

It's a lovely bright sunny morning, all the children have gone to the park on their scooters and the office is quiet, but only because everyone is so busy with 101 things to do this morning.

Our LG2 signing books are comming in this morning, yippee!!

We have yet more online registrations from retailers throughout the country who are wanting to order their jewellery stock online so this is proving to be very popular.
It enables the shops to place an order at anytime of the day or night, if they are unable to wait for the agent to come and see them.
